Dental Assistant: Full-Time

Description
Under the direction of the Dental Director, the Dental Assistant must be able to prepare patients for the treatment, assist the dentist in performing treatment to patients in restorative dentistry or oral surgery, prepare materials and equipment for treatment and have them ready for the dentist’s use, take x-rays and assist the dentist in laboratory work. May perform other related work to include, but not limited to, scheduling appointments, answering the phone, ordering supplies and doing the dental billing. Also, maintain a sterile and neat working environment according to current infection control procedures.

Requirements
Must have High School Diploma or equivalent and proof of being a Certified Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) from an accredited national certification agency with ID card and certification number; must have licensure from the State of New Jersey to perform Dental Radiography procedures and CPR certification. Two (2) to Three (3) years of experience in related field. Bilingual English/Spanish or another language preferred. Working some Saturdays required.

Dental Hygienist: Part-Time

Description
Under the direction of the Dental Director, the Dental Hygienist must be able to prepare patients for treatment, conduct preventive care treatments, and document issues that come up as a result of dental exams. Additional duties include removing plaque from and polishing patients’ teeth during routine checkups, screening patients, reviewing patients’ oral health histories, and teaching appropriate brushing and flossing techniques. Utilizing X-ray machines to take pictures of the teeth and developing film for the Dentist’s analysis will also be required.

Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and usually need to have excelled in biology, chemistry, math and health courses. Should have an Associate’s degree in related discipline or Bachelor’s degree before applying. The graduate must pass the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination, which is a comprehensive written examination.
